SUMMARY:Twelfth Annual Carnell Drummond Dinner
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe date for the Twelfth Annual Carnell Drummond Dinner has been set! Mark Tuesday\, October 22nd on your calendar. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and a way to pay tribute to two great statesmen who happened to be Democrats: Representative Marion Carnell and Senator John Drummond. They left their mark on this part of the upstate in the areas of economic expansion and education and in too many other ways to name. (For more information on Rep Carnell and Senator Drummond\, see the Carnell and Drummond tab at the top of the screen.)Funds raised from this event will go to securing a headquarters to help candidates and voters during the 2020 election. So come out and enjoy some great food and fabulous company in an enchanted atmosphere\, all for a good cause! Speakers to be announced\, so stay tuned. \n\nWe are incredibly excited to announce that our speaker will be Representative Chandra Dillard from District 23 (Greenville). “Rep. Chandra Dillard is Director of Community Relations for Furman University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Winthrop University and a Masters in Public Administration from Walden University. She is also a graduate of Leadership Greenville\, Furman’s Riley Institute Diversity Leadership Initiative\, and Leadership South Carolina. After a distinguished service record on Greenville City Council for nine years as the first woman to represent her district\, in November 2008 she was elected to the S.C. House of Representatives. She is a ranking member of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and Chairs the Environmental Affairs subcommittee making her the first woman to hold this position. In 2012 she was elected by her colleagues to serve on the House Ethics Committee.\n\n \n\nAdditionally she serves on the House Legislative Oversight Committee. Rep. Dillard is a proven champion of issues related to Early Childhood Development\, Home Rule (Local Government)\, Conservation\, K5-12 Education and Community Development. Rep. Dillard is a hands-on advocate for her constituents.
