Elections
The following positions are up for election at this Convention:
Precinct Leaders
We need one precinct leader from each of the 50 voting precincts in Greenwood County. A precinct leader is considered a member of the Executive Committee and is invited to participate and vote in our monthly Executive Committee meetings. If you are not sure of the name of your precinct, you can look it up at SCVotes.gov.
If there is only one nominee for a precinct, that person can assume the position with the consent of the convention participants.
If there is more that one nominee for a precinct, then that position will go up for a voice vote from the convention participants.
This is a one-year term and will be voted upon again in 2025 at which point it will become a two-year term
Alternate State Executive Committee Members
serve as a backup to the Executive Committeeman and Executive Committeewomen. Responsibilities include attending monthly Executive Committee Meetings here in Greenwood. They will also need to attend quarterly State Executive Committee meetings in case the main Exec Committeeman or woman cannot attend.
This is a one-year term and will be voted upon again in 2025 at which point it will become a two-year term. These members represent Greenwood County at the State Party level and have voting privileges for any rule changes, disputes, and resolutions.
State Convention Delegates
All members can sign up to be Delegates to the State Party convention held on Saturday May 18 and have voting privileges at that event. These delegates will serve for two years, covering both the 2024 and 2025 State Convention.
Note: If you announce for a position, you must be in attendance at the Convention in order to qualify for the ballot.
It is vital to the success of our Party, and for the candidates that we support, to ensure that all positions are filled with dedicated individuals!
