I’m writing to you regarding the relocation of several polling locations in Greenwood County.
Shoals Junction 032 – The polling location has been moved from Greenville Presbyterian Church to The Ware Shoals Volunteer Fire Department located at 1312 Morgan Rd. in Hodges. We used the new location in the 2024 General Election with no issues. This is a permanent move.
Mimosa Crest 035 – The polling location has been moved from Emerald Baptist Church to
Oaks of Greenwood located at 116 Enterprise Ct. in Greenwood. We used the new location in the 2024 General Election with no issues. This is a permanent move.
Emerald 027 – the polling location has moved from The Medford Center to the James C Self Conference Center. Both locations are on the Piedmont Technical College campus. We will install ample signage to notify the voters of this change and direct them to the new polling location. This information will be included in the state required notice of election advertisement. This is a permanent move.
Parson’s Mill 048 –This location formerly housed Greenwood Baptist Church. Greenwood County purchased the property in 2023 and is currently using the property for Greenwood County operations while the courthouse and Park Plaza undergo renovations. We were allowed to use the property for all local and statewide elections in the 2024 election season. It is unclear at this time if we can continue to use this property. I will keep you up to date on the status.
Graham’s Glen 050 – Currently housed at St. Mark United Methodist Church, Coronaca Campus. The church has been placed up for sale, so we were asked to find another polling location. We spoke with officials from the Burton Center on Hwy 72/221 and they have graciously agreed to let us use their facility as a polling location for all future elections. This is a permanent move.
In keeping with SC Law, we will post a sign at each of the previous polling sites, The sign will include the name of the new polling location, the physical address, and our telephone number in case of questions. We will install appropriate signage at each new location to direct the voters. We have mailed new voter registration cards to the voters affected by these changes.
