Chair
Bill Kimler was first elected Chair of the GWCDP in 2020 and then again in 2022. During his tenure, the Party has become active in the community with monthly service events, volunteers recognized for their efforts, social media outreach has grown exponentially and many tools developed to assist Democratic candidates running for office. In 2022, he ran for office, unsuccessfully seeking to unseat the long-time incumbent in SC House District 13. He’s holds Masters Degrees in Physics and Education and works as a Software Product Manager.

1st Vice Chair
Dr. Jumelle Brooks has over 18 years of experience in supervision and 20 years of training (computer tech, business, and healthcare). She received her BS from Lander, MBA from Webster University and a PhD from Capella University. She has been a business owner, instructor, consultant, Program Chair, Academic Dean, and Campus President. She currently teaches at Pendleton High School and is on the Board of Directors for the Pendleton Foundation
for Black History & Culture.

2nd Vice Chair
Deb Atkinson was an English instructor at Piedmont Technical Instructor until 2021 at which point she became a small business co-owner, buying the Sears Hometown Store in Greenwood. She is working on her 3rd Masters Degree, this time in Library and Information Sciences (MLIS). Last year she was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma but after 6 months of chemotherapy is doing very well and looking forward to helping the Party grow!

3rd Vice Chair
Matthew Miller has served as GWCDP 3rd Vice Chair since 2020. While his full-time employment is as a Quality Systems Coordinator at Lonza, he also serves as Councilman for Ward 5 of the City of Greenwood and is the organist for St. Mark UMC. He is very active in the musical arts community in Greenwood and looks forward to bring more of the young Democratic voice to the table.
