On the Passing of Wanda Moore
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I share with you the news that Mrs. Wanda Moore passed away this morning.
As we announced at our Breakfast Meeting last Saturday, Wanda suffered an aneurysm and had been hospitalized. Despite positive news received throughout the week about her recovery, the Lord decided to call her home today.
Wanda served as our Community Care Movement Director. She was responsible for finding ways every month for the Greenwood Democrats to live out our motto, “Democrats Care!” From food drives to heart health awareness, from school supplies to support for autistic children, from Christmas gift giveaways to serving Thanksgiving meals – Wanda was the embodiment of community service.
On a personal note, there’s only a few people in my life that I can say have made me a better person for having known them. Wanda will forever sit in my heart among that group.
Our deepest prayers of support and strength go out to her husband Bruce and to all of her family and friends. There is a huge hole in our community now, and we will all need to step up to fill it. As information becomes available about memorial and other services, we will share on our website and on our Facebook page.
