GWCDP Chair Bill Kimler walked the members through House Bill H.3728, the so-called “Transparency and Integrity in Education Act”, which lists out seven “prohibited concepts” from being taught at any level of public schools.
Besides the fact that this lengthy bill targeting concepts that are not part of any curriculum in SC public schools, bills just like this have had chilling effects on schools and libraries nationwide as teachers are forced to second-guess themselves due to fear of being criminally prosecuted.
