March Breakfast Meeting is in the books!

Thank you to all who attended our Breakfast Meeting this morning!

If you weren’t able to attend, or wish to review & share the content that was covered, we’ve uploaded all of the segments to our YouTube channel.

We’ve also made our Meeting Notes available which have links to those videos as well as links to news articles and other resources that were brought up today.

We look forward to working together to make our county, our state, and our country a better place to live for all!

Yours Democratically,

Our Speakers

Sue Berkowitz
Director of the SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center

Sue has decades of legal activism under her belt, fighting on behalf of those often left behind by our governmental and legal systems. She shares with us the work that she and her associates at the SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center have been doing on behalf of SC residents in need.

Floyd Nicholson
former SC State Senator from Greenwood County

Senator Nicholson shares with us his thoughts on the November campaign and election, the current state of legislative affairs in Columbia, what he’s been doing recently as “Citizen Floyd”, and gives us the scoop about his plans to run for Governor of SC in 2022!

Mei Kung
2nd Vice Chair, Immigration Attorney
and Small Business Owner

Mei shares with us a bit of her storied life, from being an immigrant to the US herself to when she saw Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg speak in person. As an experienced immigration attorney, she provides her take on the dismantling of immigration rights over the past few years and how the Biden administration is steering the country in a more humane direction.

Jitwan Floyd
Chair of the Young Democrats of Greenwood

Jitwan was instrumental in forming the first-ever chapter of the Greenwood Young Democrats. He shares his story with us including his experience with a certain established SC House Representative! You’ll also learn what the Young Democrats have planned in the future.

Denise Waldrep
SC Legislative Watchdog

Denise has been gaining a reputation throughout the state for her down-to-earth SC Legislative updates that have been keeping us informed. This past month has been a doozy and we look forward to hearing the highlights (or lowlights) from Denise.

Bill Kimler

Bill’s got updates on what’s happened with the GWCDP in the very busy month of February. He’ll also announce the coveted Volunteer of the Month award and open up the lines for live discussion at the end of the meeting!
