December Events

We will not have a breakfast meeting in December, as per usual. We will have a get together on December 8th (see the calendar of events for more details). We will resume meetings in January. As many of you have noticed, we are outgrowing our current location. We are looking for a new one. Suggestions are welcome. Please pay close attention to the location of the January breakfast meeting. Have a Happy Holiday Season!
Thank You!
Things may not have gone the way we wanted locally, but we worked hard, and we should be proud of that. Many thanks to Michael Gaskin for his energy and hard work; you are an inspiration to us all! A huge thank you to Mary Geren for taking it to Jeff Duncan and fighting for us; We are SC-3! We are so grateful to James Smith and Mandy Powers Norrell for listening and for showing so many people what we can do to make SC a better place to live and work. Thank you to Rep. Anne Parks for being such a ferocious representative of the people that no one dared oppose her! Last, but certainly not least, thank you to every volunteer who worked on a committee, registered voters, made phone calls, went door to door, or worked in any other way to help our party or our candidates. We’ll let you know when it’s time to start it all over again………..How’s next week for you?

GOTV Rally
A packed house listened to candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor James Smith and Mandy Powers Norrell talk about a better future for South Carolina. James will be the Education Governor and will sign the Medicaid expansion on Day 1 in office! This Get Out the Vote Rally was a huge success! Now it’s up to everyone to spread the word about our fabulous candidates and encourage people to get out and VOTE! Say it with me, “FIRED UP, READY TO GO!”

The Smith-Norrell Express was parked outside The Hut this morning for a Get Out The Vote rally!
Monthly Breakfast Meeting Turned Get Out The Vote Rally!

James Smith and Mandy Powers Norrell will be our speakers at this Saturday’s breakfast meeting, which will be held @ 9:00 @ The Hut (1310 Cambridge Ave behind Jerry’s Flowers)! Workman’s is catering. This is going to be a Get Out the Vote Rally, so let’s pack the place! Bring your friends and family. Bring your neighbors! If you can only make it to one meeting, this is the one! It’s our last meeting before the election. Afterward we’re going to make some phone calls and do some canvassing. Let’s show our next Governor and Lieutenant Governor that Greenwood is playing a major role in helping to #FlipSCBlue!
Eleventh Annual Carnell-Drummond

The party is just getting started. Look at that crowd!

GWCDP Chair, Charles Lewis, starts us off for the night.

Mr. David Gaskin honors the veterans among us.

Mrs. Elaine Gentry, our former Chair, has worked for years in the GWCDP and beyond. She received the coveted Yellow Dog Democrat Award.

And Cathie Swindell got people registered.

Historic Cokesbury College Political Stump Meeting
The Old Fashioned Political Stump Meeting @ Historic Cokesbury College was a great success! Rep. Anne Parks and Incumbent Mike Monaghan and candidates Mary Geren and Michael Gaskin all represented themselves well. Now let’s vote on Nov 6th so they can represent us well!

Michael Gaskin (State House District
13) spoke passionately about education:
“We need to be our children’s keeper.”

Mary Geren (US Congress District 3) is the
eloquent, well-versed “five foot nothin’
momma” who is going to be our next
US Congresswoman!

Incumbent Anne Parks (State House District
12) spoke to the duty of being a representative:
“This isn’t my seat, This is OUR seat.”
